フィリピン留学体験談【休暇も兼ねてスピーキングUP！台湾人留学生Vitaさん(2ヵ月間)】

インターンのTERUです。今回はZEN Englishを卒業した台湾人の方にインタビューしましたので、ご紹介致します。

ZEN Englishで一番の英語力があって、誰にでも明るいお姉さん的存在のVitaさんです！

１.Before coming to ZEN English, what did you do?
-ZEN Englishに来る前は、何をしていましたか。

I just resigned my previous job and want to rest for a while. That’s why I decided to go to Cebu.

会社を辞めたばかりで、休暇をとりたいと思い、セブ島に来ることにしました。

２.Why did you decide to study in Cebu? And, why ZEN?
-なぜセブ島で勉強しようと思ったのですか。そして、なぜZEN Englishにしましたか。

Compared to other cities in Philippine, I think Cebu City is better to the person who wants to learning or traveling. It’s safe, weather is stable, and it’s easy to travel around the different islands for the weekend.

セブ市が学習するにも旅行するにも、他のフィリピンの地域より適していると思いました。安全で、気候も安定しており、週末には簡単に他の島に旅行できます。

Also, I chose ZEN ENGLISH because of its convenient location and also the accommodation is Tsai Hotel. Just few steps you can reach the school.

ZEN Englishを選んだ理由は、立地が良いことと、Tsai Hotelに宿泊でき、学校ととても近いです。

３.What kind of English skills did you aim to improve? And, why?
-どんな英語力を向上させたいと思いましたか。

From my perspective, speaking is the most important skill that I aim to improve.

Because I always need to talk to my foreign colleagues when I was working.

私が以前働いていた時、常に外国籍の同僚と話をする必要がありましたので、スピーキングが最も重要なスキルと考え、その向上を目標としました。

４.What did you learn the most in ZEN? And, what kind of materials did you feel the most effective?
-ZEN Englishで何を一番学びましたか。どんな教材が効果的だと感じましたか。

I have learned a lot from different teachers, including speaking skills, discussions, cross-cultures, and also their lifestyles.

色々な先生からスピーキングはもちろんのこと、ディスカッション、異文化、フィリピンの生活スタイルについて多く学ぶことができました。

And Business English lessons is the most effective for me. Since it’s really useful and practical when I’m working.

また、ビジネス英語の授業が実践的かつ仕事で役に立つことが多かったです。

５.What did you enjoy the most in the Philippines?
-フィリピンでは何が一番楽しかったですか。

I really enjoy traveling around the cities and islands in Philippines. And Palawan is my favorite island, very beautiful! I would never forget the stunning view which I’ve seen.

セブ市周辺や島々に旅行出来たことがとても楽しかったです。そして、パラワン島はおすすめです。パラワン島で見た景色は忘れることができません。

６.What kind of things do you recommend for new students?
-後輩におすすめすることはありますか。

Don’t be afraid of talking English. The only way to learn a language is to make mistakes. You can learn from the mistakes. And all the teachers in Zen is very professional, they will help you to improve your weaknesses for English.

英語で話すことを恐れないでほしいです。言語を学ぶ方法は、間違いをすることです。間違いをすることで学習することができます。ZEN Englishの先生方はとてもプロフェッショナルなので、英語力向上に助けてくれます。

７.What will you do next after leaving ZEN?
-ZEN Englishを終えて、何をする予定ですか。

After I finished my studying in ZEN, I would like to apply for a new job in Taiwan and keep learning English.
継続的に英語を勉強しつつ、台湾で新しい仕事を探すつもりです。

８.インタビューを終えて

VitaさんはZEN Englishの中で最も英語力のある生徒さんでしたし、休憩時間中も積極的に色々な国籍の方と話していることがとても印象的でした。Vitaさんの今後の更なる活躍が楽しみです。
